Forum Title: Kane Carpet DO NOT BEND OR FOLD
I installed some Kane carpet the other day high end stuff, 90.00 per sqyd. On the roll it says DO NOT BEND OR FOLD that's !%$#* funny, I guess we should tell the customer if they want Kane carpet, the room must be on the first floor and a straight shot in from the entrance. Oh and don't vacuum with a beater bar.

Thats crazy. I'd have to stop installing if that was the case.

If you was to break down the backing you may end up with a permanent crease or mark. Vacuuming with a beater bar tears the stuff up. The yarn if I remember right is made in Israel and is kind of like olefin. Was their any twist in the yarn? It is all just little fine fibers. One I did claimed to have a million points per square yard. That is a lot of fibers. Just wondering also how did you seam it? Conventional iron, Kool Glide or handsew it? Daris

Thanks for the info. it helps understand why all the warnings with this carpet. the yarn was like the old shags about an inch and a quarter long with twists. I used the recommended Kool Glide for the seam.
